Default: do not post a parcel. They order from a catalogue with the money you send.

Books are allowed, preferably via approved retailers. Put their name and prisoner number on the order.

Clothes are sometimes allowed for new arrivals or remand. Ask the prison or wait until they can tell you the local rule. A guess gets returned.
